AI Quick Tips 155: Prompt framework - S.T.A.R.

Here is another prompt framework that you may find useful.

You can use this with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, etc.

The framework is called STAR.  It stands for Situation, Tone, Action, Result.  

Here is the breakdown -

• Situation- Provide context about what is happening.  Enough to let the model give you a result but not too much that it gets confused.
• Tone - What is the underlying feeling of this situation?
• Action - Give the instruction(s) for the AI tool to follow.
• Result - What is your desired end state?

Here is an example of STAR

We teach people how to crochet and are looking to start offering virtual workshops via Zoom.

We are going to have a spooky, playful atmosphere because it will be Halloween-themed.

Help us come up with an outline for a 3-day workshop for up to 10 people.

Provide 2 separate outlines for us to choose from.  

Be prepared for follow-up questions or modifications.
