AI Quick Tips 160: Have you used Google Vids yet?

If you want to make videos for your business - i.e., explainer videos, talking head videos, etc. Google Vids might be worth looking at.

I’ve had access to Google Vids for a while, but I hadn’t used it until recently.  It’s damn impressive.

You can make a video in a few minutes.  Now, to be fair, you probably won’t want to use the initial video that it creates for you, but it does a really good job of getting you started.

If you type in a description of the topic(s) of the video, it will

  • Create a short video
  • Create scenes
  • Create scripts for each scene
  • Create transitions between scenes
  • Create a voiceover
  • And a lot more in less than a minute

Everything that it creates can be edited.  For example, you can change the scripts and then create custom voiceovers with premade voices or your own.’

You can -

  • Edit scenes
  • Add text
  • Add slides
  • Add a recording (from your camera, your screen, both, etc.)
  • Add images (from Drive stock, or the web)
  • Use Gemini to generate text, images, etc.
  • Use built-in templates
  • Etc.

It is a really good combination of a large language model (like ChatGPT or more appropriately Gemini) and a video editor.

Here is the Google Vids page if you want more information.

It is part of Google Workspace, so you might already have access to it.  Have fun.
