AI is everywhere. I know.
It’s interesting to me that most people are focused on ChatGPT when they talk about AI tools.
To be fair, they did create the tool that blew up and started this whole AI revolution.
In the last 6 - 12 months, a lot of other tools have caught up to ChatGPT in terms of features, usability, and value. One of those tools is Google’s Gemini.
You are probably already using Google tools - Gmail, search, Docs, Sheets, Meet, etc. Most of their tools already have Gemini built in and Gemini has its own interface that looks and works just like ChatGPT.
Gemini has a lot of features that you are used to if you are a ChatGPT user, like -
- Multiple models
- Deep research
- Image generation
- Canvas (word processor and code editor)
- “Custom GPTs” (Gemini calls them Gems but it’s the same idea)
- Voice prompting and responding
It is also integrated with common Google tools, like -
- Docs
- Sheets
- Slides
- Gmail
- Meet
- This is actually a pretty long list - assume that most Google tools either have Gemini integrated or they will
You can make “podcasts” like in NotebookLM (also a Google tool).
Google just had their annual cloud event, and they announced a long list of improvements and new features for Gemini.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I’m not sure what you are waiting for. Oh, and a lot of it is free…
