I really like the voice modes on some of the AI chatbots - i.e., ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot (none with Claude yet…).
What I don’t like is if I pause for even half of a second, it starts talking. Maybe I wasn’t done yet.
It gets to the point where I don’t want to use it anymore.
I’ve been playing around with prompts, and this one makes it a little bit better. Note that this goes at the end of your prompt if you have one -
IMPORTANT: do not start talking until I say the words “Your turn”. Sometimes I will pause when speaking and it does not mean that I am done but that I need to collect my thoughts. I will let you know that it is your turn to respond by saying “Your turn”
The bad news with this is that when I tested it, ChatGPT did not always wait for me to say “your turn”.
The good news is that it waited at least 3 seconds before starting to talk instead of the normal one-half of a second.
So I consider it a win.

Voice Mode can be your friend.
We’ll show you how to use it (and the rest of ChatGPT) with confidence.
