I know, I know, they are not technically called podcasts, but I feel like that’s how everyone knows them.
Google has added Audio Overviews to Gemini. This is arguably the most popular feature from NotebookLM.
When I open Gemini, I now see this pop-up -
If I click on “Try now”, it brings up my computer’s file system so I can add something for it to start from.
In case you’ve never used NotebookLM or used this feature, the Audio Overview creates a very realistic-sounding “podcast” between two hosts. They discuss whatever topic(s) you give them. The audio format opens up a lot of possibilities for people. For example, you can listen to it while commuting, exercising, etc.
The audio overviews can also make it easier to go through the large amounts of output that we get from Gemini sometimes.
If you open Gemini and don’t see the “Try now” button, you can attach a file, and it will give you a “Generate Audio Overview” option -
So far it works well for me. Give it a try and see how you can make it work for you.
