If you are anything like me then when you are using a computer, the less you use the mouse, the better.
Using keyboard shortcuts has saved me more time that I can calculate.
On ChatGPT, you can find the list of shortcuts under the help menu.
- Click the icon in the bottom left corner
- From the menu that comes up, highlight Help and click on Keyboard shortcuts
- This will bring up the list of keyboard shortcuts
- By the way, you might notice that there is a shortcut to bringing up the shortcuts - Ctrl + /
This isn’t the longest shortcut list that I’ve seen but it can still save you some time.
Shortcut List (for those that skim)
- Ctrl + Shift + O - open new chat
- Shift + Esc - Focus chat input
- Ctrl + Shift + ; - Copy last code block
- That’s a semi-colon
- Ctrl + Shift + | - Set custom instructions
- That’s a pipe
- Ctrl + Shift + S - Toggle sidebar
- Ctrl + Shift + Backspace - Delete chat
- Ctrl + + - Zoom in
- That’s a plus
- Ctrl + - - Zoom out
- That’s a minus
- Ctrl + 0 - Reset zoom
- Ctrl + / - Show shortcuts
