AI Quick Tips 284: Practice using more creative language with Google Labs' TextFX

Written by Damien Griffin | Feb 5, 2026 2:30:04 PM

The possibilities that are available to people with these AI tools are nearly endless.

I will, ironically, not creatively change how Google describes TextFX -

TextFX is an AI experiment designed to help rappers, writers, and wordsmiths expand their process. It was created in collaboration with Lupe Fiasco, drawing inspiration from the lyrical and linguistic techniques he has developed throughout his career. TextFX consists of 9 tools, each is designed to explore creative possibilities with text and language.

They made this both to demonstrate how AI tools can help you be more creative and to demonstrate what kind of applications you can build yourself.  For those that are interested, TextFX is open source - here’s the code

Here are some of the tools that are part of TextFX -

  • Simile - Enter a thing or concept and it will create a simile about it
  • Explode - Breaks words into similar sounding phrases
  • Chain - Builds a chain of semantically related items
  • Acronym - Creates an acronym using letters of a word you choose
  • Fuse - Finds intersections between two things

There are four more and I’ll let you explore those if you are still interested.
