AI Quick Tips 313: Haven’t had enough Gemini yet? Good, ‘cause it’s in Drive

At this point, why not? It’s probably fair to say that either Gemini is in all of Google’s tools or it will be soon.

If you use Google Drive, you might have noticed that there is now a little “Ask Gemini” button near the top of the page.

If you click on it, you will be taken to a new screen with the current folder, suggested sources, suggested settings, a chat interface... all kinds of stuff

It will automatically generate an “AI Overview” of the folder that you started in.

There’s actually a massive amount that you can do here, way more than I can cover in a “quick tip”.

Here are a few examples to get you started -

• Add multiple folders and/or drives and use Gemini to search for that file that you know is there, but you can’t remember the name of
• Use your Google Drive as a source of truth and prompt Gemini to answer questions based off of multiple documents
• Use Nano Banana to create images from your Drive sources
• Add extra Google tools under Search Settings
  

If you’ve used Gemini before, most of this will feel (mostly) familiar. If not, this might be a good time to get started. Create a free Google account and go to drive.google.com.
