For a long time, if you tried to upload a PowerPoint deck into NotebookLM, the app would tell you no. You had to convert your slides into a PDF first.
But things change fast in the AI world. I went back to double-check my assumptions, and it turns out NotebookLM has finally updated things.
I tested this with a 10-slide deck and it worked (and not the weird way where it strips out the images and leaves you with a skeleton of bullet points). One thing to note is that it did take a while compared to other file types. My 10-slide deck took about 5 minutes to upload (it actually a good sign since it likely means that it is processing the images)
If you want to try this yourself, the process is dead simple, though you might need a little patience:
For the other technical types out there, NotebookLM specifically supports .pptx. Other PowerPoint formats likely won’t work.
