AI Quick Tips 344: 3 NotebookLM quiz changes you’ll actually care about (if you use quizzes)

NotebookLM quizzes are a useful artifact to test your knowledge of a subject.

Maybe you are studying for a test.
Maybe you are getting a new certification.
Maybe you just like learning things.

Whatever it is, quizzes can be a tool that help you get there faster.

They’ve added 3 subtle but useful changes -

First, it now holds your place in the quiz if you click away.

Before, as soon as you clicked on something else in NotebookLM and then came back to the quiz, back to question 1 for you.

Now you can answer a few questions, do something else and come back later.

Second, you can delete individual questions from the quiz.

This can be useful if the question doesn’t make sense for what you need to know or maybe NotebookLM hallucinated the whole thing.

Either way, you had to delete the entire quiz before and now you can drop that down to the question level.

And third, when you are done responding to all of the questions, you get a summary screen that shows your score and the percentage that you got right.

It also gives you two options

    1. Review - You can go back through the quiz and see your selected responses and the correct responses. You can also use the explain feature to chat with Gemini to clarify things
    2. Retake - This is basically what happened before. Your answers and the correct answers will be cleared and you can do the whole thing again

If I was wrong and you don’t actually care about any of those. My apologies. Here is a meme for your time
