AI Quick Tips 352: Use Gemini to help you create that Google Form

A graphic title card on a dark blue background. On the left is an orange robot head with a speech bubble containing the text 'AI'. To the right is a light blue circle containing the words 'Quick Tips'.

If you’ve been tasked with creating a form for <enter thing> but you’ve never used Google Forms before, Gemini can help you.

It has been integrated in a way so it mostly stays out of the way unless you choose to use it.

First go to forms.google.com (you may have to log in)

Then on the Start a new form section at the top, click on Blank FormA screenshot of the "Start a new form" section from the Google Forms interface on a light blue background. A large, rectangular white button sits in the center, featuring Google's signature multi-colored plus sign (+) composed of yellow, red, blue, and green segments. Below the card, the text reads "Blank form" in a clean, dark sans-serif font.

This will bring up the Gemini window (this is the “mostly” that I mentioned before. If you don’t want to use Gemini, you’ll still have to see it this one time and close it)A user interface screen within Google Docs titled "Let's start creating". It features three suggested prompt cards: "Order form for a bakery, including questions for quantity and pickup...", "Registration form for a 5K charity run", and "Create a form for employees to request time off". Below them is a text entry box labeled "Describe the form or quiz you want to create" next to a gray "Create" button.

You can choose one of their suggested form topics or describe whatever you had in mind (if you don’t know, start with whatever you were tasked with)

You’ll get a form that you can accept as-is or you can have it try again. Repeat this process until you have something that you are happy with. Know that you can change anything after it has been created so you can use this as a better starting point than a blank form.

If you are already in the form creation section and you want to bring up the Gemini window, there is a new “Help me create a form icon in the upper right”. It looks like this -
A close-up screenshot of a gray line icon on a clean white background. The icon displays a stylized clipboard or document outline containing three bullet points or checklist lines on the left side. A distinctive four-pointed sparkle icon sits over the top-right corner of the document, representing an AI-assisted or smart feature. (hope you’re good at Where’s Waldo - that’s still a thing right…)
