AI Quick Tips 362: Gemini’s study notebooks

1. Open Gemini (gemini.google.com)
2. Expand the side panel
3. Select “New notebook”
4. Select “Study and Learn”

5. Type in the topic you are studying

This is how you can get started with Gemini’s new-ish study notebooks. They are targeted at people who are learning something (i.e., a college course, a professional certification, lifetime learning, etc.)

Once you pick a topic, Gemini will put together an assessment quiz to get a starting point. Then it will create and maintain a dashboard so you can see your progress as you go.

Lessons will be created and suggested based on where it thinks your knowledge gaps are. Of course, you can have it create lessons on any topic that you want, even if you already know it well.

The lessons have quizzes that can test your recall and understanding.

Everything gets updated on your dashboard.

Since Gemini app syncs notebooks with NotebookLM, you can always switch over and create artifacts through that interface (i.e. video overview, flashcards, etc.)

(You could probably just create any of those artifacts within Gemini app but you didn’t hear it from me…)
