AI Quick Tips 363: OpenAI has new models, but you probably can’t use them

The GPT-5.6 series of models is out on limited preview. Stress the LIMITED part.

At this time and throughout the preview, the models will only be available to “a select group of trusted partners and organizations”. If you are in that list then you probably already know about anything that I’ll mention here…

With this series, OpenAI is moving to a naming structure that seems a little too similar to Anthropic’s.

• The flagship model is called Sol
• The balanced model, in the middle, is called Terra
• And the fast and affordable model is called Luna

The models are, of course, the best ever, the fastest, the safest, less-filling, tastes great. You know the drill by now.

I can’t say much about the models because we are not part of the trusted organizations so we haven’t used any of them. They sound nice in the blog post.
