Your days of creating a slide deck in Gemini Notebook (previously known as NotebookLM) may be over. Recent-ish updates have made it so that you can rearrange and delete slides from within the program.
After you create a slide deck, you will have a “Revise” option near the upper right corner (when you click on the artifact).
If you click on Revise, you will go to a slightly different screen where you can change one or more slides. The screen actually isn’t new. This is how you used to be able to change things like the text on the slide, the layout, the color scheme, etc. Now, you can also click on a slide on the right side and drag it to a new position
After you move a slide, the Pending changes should increment, and you will have a “Slides reordered” message underneath.
At this point you can make more changes or generate a revised deck with the changes that you have. This also means that you will always have your original slide deck just in case something happens or you end up needing it.
You also have a new option to delete slides from the deck. If you hover your mouse over one of the slides (after clicking Revise) you will have a vertical ellipsis on the upper right. Click that and you will now have a “Delete slide” option.
We aren’t at full editing capabilities yet but they are moving towards having the things that people do most often. You might not need to export to Slides or PowerPoint anymore.
