*Answering your questions about business and technology*

### Question

*I am just getting started with AI tools.  What are popular generative AI tools and platforms?*

*~Anonymous*

### Answer

Hello,

Welcome.  To the Q&A and also to AI tools.

So, the good news is that there are a LOT of generative AI tools and platforms out there.  Probably in the millions by this point (not kidding).

That is also the bad news.  There are too many options unless you know exactly what you want.

My recommendation is to start with ChatGPT.  This doesn’t mean that I think it is the “best” (whatever that even means), but it can do a lot of different things.  This will allow you to play around and see what can be done.  If you find that you can’t do something that you want with ChatGPT then you can look for a different tool that does that thing.  You can probably ask ChatGPT to recommend a tool to use.

If, for some reason, you don’t want to start with ChatGPT, then I would recommend one of the similar broad-scoped platforms like Google Gemini, Microsoft CoPilot, Anthropic Claude, Perplexity AI, or Meta Llama.

Pick one and start using it.

If you don’t know what to ask, take a look at our [AI Quick Tips posts](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/ai).  We have over 100 different things that you could do there.

Thank you for the question

Damien
