*Answering your questions about business and technology*

### Question

*What are some good rules of thumb when getting started with ChatGPT?  How can I use it?*
*J. *

### Answer

Hi J,

Here are some ideas that will hopefully help you out -

- Treat it like a friend or a colleague
- - Don’t expect it to be perfect and have the correct answer to every question.  Like a person, it will be wrong sometimes
- Use it as a thought partner to augment your intelligence and brainstorm ideas
- Use it to challenge your thinking and provide alternatives/counter-points
- If you have knowledge in a field, ask it questions or give it tasks where you can spot and correct inaccuracies quickly and easily
    - To save time overall

Let us know how things work out

Damien
