August 31, 2025 ![Picture of Damien Griffin](https://app.hubspot.com/settings/avatar/20cb51297a34e5d5d7c3362ec1fae755) [Damien Griffin](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/author/damien) ![BizTech Q&A](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/hubfs/BizTech%20Q%26A%20(1).png) *Answering your questions about business and technology* ### Question *Why would I use Gemini 2.5 Flash instead of Gemini 2.5 Pro? ~ Anonymous* ### Answer Hello, Several reasons come to mind - - - Flash models will usually give you output faster.  Techie words are lower latency - Flash models cost less to use - You’ll see this more if you are doing API calls but if you are in Gemini (chatbot) then you will have fewer requests that you are permitted to do (i.e., pro 150 requests per minute vs flash 1000 requests per minute) - Flash models are more likely to be available during high traffic times - Flash models are less filling and taste great - They use fewer resources.  **Read: *better for the environment*** - They may have access to different tools - Newer models are usually released before Pro models There are more reasons out there but I think that covers the most popular answers. Hope that helps ~ Damien ### Share: [Share on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fthoughtsbrewing.com%2Fblog%2Fbiztech-qa-48-flash-or-pro%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [Share on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/sharing/share-offsite/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthoughtsbrewing.com%2Fblog%2Fbiztech-qa-48-flash-or-pro%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [Share on X](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthoughtsbrewing.com%2Fblog%2Fbiztech-qa-48-flash-or-pro%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&text=BizTech+Q%26A+48%3A+Flash+or+Pro%3F) [AI](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/ai), [Google](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/google), [Gemini](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/gemini), [BizTech Q&A](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/biztech-qa), [Q&A](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/qa), [Models](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/models) ## Comments ## Related posts ##### Menu - [Home](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/home) - [About](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/about) - [Blog](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog) - [AI Training/Courses](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/courses) - [Fractional COO/CTO Services](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/fractional-coo/cto-services) - [Contact](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/contact) [Privacy Policy](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/privacy-policy)   |  [Terms of Use](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/terms-of-use)    |   Herndon, VA   |   703-296-9912   |   ©2022-2026 Copyright Thoughts Brewing, LLC [Follow us on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/thoughts-brewing-llc) [Follow us on Facebook](https://www.youtube.com/@thoughtsbrewingllc) [Find us on Google](https://g.co/kgs/YhpnVFp) [Find us on Yelp](https://www.yelp.com/biz/thoughts-brewing-herndon) [Follow us on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/thoughtsbrewingllc) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Damien Griffin", "url" : "https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/author/damien" }, "dateModified" : "2025-08-31T10:45:00.548Z", "datePublished" : "2025-08-31T10:45:00.000Z", "headline" : "BizTech Q&A 48: Flash or Pro?", "image" : [ "https://thoughtsbrewing.com/hubfs/BizTech%20Q&A%20(1).png" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/biztech-qa-48-flash-or-pro", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://thoughtsbrewing.com/hubfs/Thoughts%20Brewing%20Logo_Round_Final_Light%20Blue_Transparent%20Background-1.png" }, "name" : "Thoughts Brewing, LLC" } } ``` ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "Organization", "address" : { "@type" : "PostalAddress", "addressCountry" : "United States of America", "addressLocality" : "Herndon", "addressRegion" : "Virginia", "postalCode" : "20170", "streetAddress" : "205 Van Buren Street, Suite 120" }, "email" : "contact@thoughtsbrewing.com", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://24461783.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/24461783/Thoughts%20Brewing%20Logo_Round_Final_Light%20Blue_Transparent%20Background-1.png" }, "name" : "Thoughts Brewing, LLC", "telephone" : "703-296-9912", "url" : "https://thoughtsbrewing.com" } ```
