I don’t like goal-setting any more than you do, but it can be helpful, and it’s usually required.  Use this prompt to get started using an AI tool to help  -

*You are a seasoned project manager with theoretical knowledge and 20 years of practical experience*

*Assist me in setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for my upcoming project, including key milestones and deadlines*

*Here is a summary of the project -* ***{PROJECT SUMMARY}***

*My role in this project is* ***{ROLE}***

*Ask me questions one at a time to gather the information that you need.  Wait for my response before asking the next question*

*Ask up to* ***{NUMBER}*** *questions*

Replace

- **{PROJECT SUMMARY}** - with, well, a summary of your project
- **{ROLE}** - with how you will be contributing to the project (i.e., engineer, project manager, external consultant, etc.)
- **{NUMBER}** - with the maximum amount of questions you want to answer before seeing a response 
    - This will become a balancing act because fewer questions will lead to lower-quality results, but more questions will take more time
