AI Quick Tips 205: Prompt framework C.H.A.T.

AI Quick Tips

You can use prompt frameworks to save even more time with AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, etc.

They identify the areas that you will focus on with your prompt(s).

This framework is CHAT which stands for -

  • Character
  • History
  • Ambition
  • Task

Here is how you use each -

  • Character - this is the role or persona that you want the AI chatbot to take on when responding to your prompt.  It’s who you are talking to
  • History - this gives the context or background about what is happening or has happened.  Provide enough information to create the output that you want
  • Ambition - this is the vision of where you want to end up
  • Task - this is the work that needs to be done to get to the ambition.  It includes the output format, constraints, and step-by-step instructions
