AI Quick Tips 213: Prepare for your next job interview with NotebookLM

AI Quick Tips

The job market is tough right now.  Ironically, part of that is because of AI tools like NotebookLM.

It doesn’t look like they are going anywhere so you might as well use them to help you prepare.  Here’s one way I came across.

Create sources for the:

  • Job description
  • Company website
  • Other company data
  • Standard interview questions

And then create sources for your information, including:

  • Your resume (remove sensitive information)
  • Your “wins” from previous jobs
  • Your answers to the standard interview questions
  • Real-world scenarios that you’ve worked through
  • Relevant stories that you’d tell the interviewer

Now, prompt NotebookLM to come up with interview questions and potential answers based on the real information that you provided.  If you prefer to listen and interact, turn it into a podcast.

If you gather all this information and go through this process, you will likely go into the actual interviews much more prepared than your competition and will have a much better chance at getting that job.

(If it isn’t going well, you can always show them how to use NotebookLM to help them with interview prep…)
