Book Brew 61: Quote Vault Part I

Book Brew

Similar to the Word Treasure series I wrote a few weeks ago, in which I shared my list of unknown (to me) words that I come across while reading, I am going to share a short series of quotes that I have kept track of over the years.  These are quotes that I have found to be powerful, impactful, meaningful, inspirational, and insightful.

Each part will be grouped together by a common theme.

I share these with you, hoping that you will find the quotes in this Quote Vault series to be words that inspired.

The Power of Mindset and Choice

  • “Just do the right thing. The rest doesn’t matter.”
    Marcus Aurelius

  • “Proactive people carry their own weather with them.”
Stephen Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

  • “They cannot take away our self-respect if we do not give it to them.”
    Gandhi

  • “Who then is invincible? The one who cannot be upset by anything outside their reasoned choice?”
    Epictetus Discourses 1.18.21

  • “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
    R. Buckminster Fuller, The End of Alzheimer’s, page 3

Ponder This

  1. How do you carry your "own weather" in challenging situations?
  2. Which quote resonates the most with you, and how can you apply its wisdom to your daily life?
  3. What steps can you take to build a "new model" in a stagnant area of your life?

Books

  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Stephen Covey
