# Celebrating Impact: Our CEO Named Catchafire’s Volunteer of the Month!

Normally, I would be writing a reading insight for my [Book Brew](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/tag/book-brew) series. However, at the beginning of this monthly series, [Catchafire](https://www.catchafire.org/) announced their Volunteer of the Month, and it just happens to be our very own CEO, [Damien](https://thoughtsbrewing.com/blog/author/damien).  

## A Look Back: Expanding Our Volunteer Efforts

A little backstory here.  Back in early 2023, Damien and I decided to expand our volunteer efforts to include projects posted by nonprofit organizations on a platform called [Catchafire](https://www.catchafire.org/).  This group brings together nonprofits and volunteers to bridge the path to stronger communities.  Their platform has helped over 13,000 nonprofits create close to $300 million in value and with over 1.5 million volunteer hours donated.  

## A Commitment to Giving Back

While I have only worked on a handful of projects, Damien has completed nearly 30 projects and donated more than 240 hours.
