One of the main reasons that you are attracted to AI tools like ChatGPT is because of the time that you can save by using them.
I think that if you spend slightly more time than normal with the tools, you can get MUCH better results.
Here is a checklist to follow to see if this works for you
(I’ll use ChatGPT as the example but this can apply to many other AI tools)
- Decide how you want to use the ChatGPT
- Give you the answer
- Work with you to get the answer
- Teach you how to get the answer yourself
- Decide what output you want
- Ask - “what input will give me the output that I want?”
- Create your prompt
- Wait for the model to produce output
- Compare the output that you wanted to the output that you got
- If they don’t match
- Use follow-up prompting to get a better response (point out what it got right and wrong)
- Look for things in your input prompt that are ambiguous
- Look for missing context in your input prompt
- Repeat until they do match or they are close enough that you can finish the task without the AI tool
This looks like a lot. And it can be in the beginning. Once you make this process normal, it will go by really quickly and your results will be much better.
