It doesn’t require logging in to anything or signing up for anything. You just select your languages and type in what you want to translate.
The website is at - https://chatgpt.com/translate
When you get there, this is the interface
One thing to note, if you click on one of the sections below the translation areas, that WILL open up ChatGPT.
There are other notes and options listed on the site and most of them are advertising things that can only be done off of this site and within ChatGPT. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just isn’t clear.
The translation worked well enough when I tested it. No issues.
My question is why (or if) this is really needed. There are so many similar language translation tools and sites (i.e., Google Translate, Apple Translate, Microsoft Translate, you get the idea) that I don’t think that ChatGPT solves a problem. It also has the fewest features of any of them.
Maybe they have bigger plans to add more to the site. Or maybe it’s exactly as they want it. They don’t consult with me before they do things so I don’t have to understand.
