Question

Can you create a link to a specific tab in a Google sheet?

Answer

Hello,

Yes, you can.  Thanks for the ques…

Unless you want to know how.  Yeah, you probably do.

I created a test sheet with 4 tabs.

On the 4th tab (“Sheet 4”), I’ve added some text into cell D15 that I will link to.

  • Click on cell D15 or verify that it is selected
  • Right-click on cell D15 to get the shortcut menu
  • Click on “View more cell actions” at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on “Get a link to this cell” from the expansion menu that opens

Now, I can paste the link back on the first tab (“Sheet 1”).  I put it in C1.

If I click on the link and then click where it says “Sheet4!D15”, it will take me directly to cell D15 on the 4th tab.

Go through the process a few times, and you’ll see that it usually takes longer to explain how to do it than it does to actually do it. It’s a quick process.

Hope that helps
