BizTech Q&A 69: ChatGPT Images?

Question

How do I know if I have the new ChatGPT images feature or if I’m still using the old one?

~ Rob

Answer

Hi Rob,

My setup is ideal for this question right now because my free account has access to the new images feature and my paid account doesn’t (seems backwards but I digress…)

First, expand the sidebar by clicking on the logo in the upper left corner

There should be a section in the sidebar named “Images”A screenshot of the ChatGPT sidebar and navigation menu. A large orange arrow points to the "Images" tab in the left sidebar, which features a "NEW" badge. The sidebar also displays a "Projects" section and a list of recent chats, including "Skateboarding landscape" and "Introducing GPT-5.2."

Click on Images and you will see something like thisA screenshot of an AI "Images" creation dashboard in a dark-mode interface. The page includes a search bar to "Describe a new image," a row of "Try a style" options like Sketch and Plushie, a "Discover something new" section with project prompts, and a "My images" gallery showing generated work, including a custom t-shirt and technical diagrams.

That’s it.  If you don’t have the images section in the sidebar, you probably don’t have the feature yet.

Hope that helps.
