AI Quick Tips 241: Level-up your image prompting by asking Gemini

AI Quick Tips

One of the easiest ways to learn what prompts will give you better images with AI tools is to ask them.

It might sound weird but you can ask the tool how to use the tool.

Let’s use Gemini to demonstrate.

I’ll also use this stock image of a capybaraA close-up photograph of a small, wet, brown capybara sitting in lush green grass and surrounded by large green leaves. The capybara is looking toward the right with its snout slightly elevated.

If I wanted to get an idea of what kind of prompt would give me this image, I can upload this image to Gemini and ask it for a prompt that would give this image as output.

Let’s try

A screenshot of the Google Gemini interface, showing a dark-themed chat window. The main section displays a greeting, "Hello, Gemini for Thoughts Brewing, LLC," and a text input field labeled "Enter a prompt for Gemini." A thumbnail of a baby capybara is in the input field. This image shows the initial state of the chat with an uploaded image.

I kept the prompt simple -

“Output a prompt that I could use to generate this image”

A screenshot of the ChatGPT interface. It shows a conversation where a user has prompted the AI to create an image of a baby capybara. The prompt, "Create an image of -A close-up shot of a baby capybara with wet, brown fur, sitting in lush green grass with large green leaves and aquatic plants in the background, facing right with its snout slightly elevated, natural lighting," is displayed. Below it, the AI has generated a photorealistic image of a baby capybara matching the description.

Its response

For giggles, I put that prompt into ChatGPT to see how similar the output will be

Yeah, it’s slightly different but those are really close.
