Question
I created a slide deck in NotebookLM. Can I edit it in NotebookLM?
~ Tony
Answer
Hello Tony,
The short answer is no.
From what I’ve seen, read, and tested, you can’t edit NotebookLM slide decks in NotebookLM.
You can export them as a PDF, upload them back into NotebookLM as a source, and prompt it to create a new slide deck (point out the edits that you want). That doesn’t work that well though.
If you want to have AI-generated slide decks that you can edit, the closest thing that I can think of is generating your slide deck in the Gemini app (video below). Once the slides are done, you can export them directly into Google Slides and edit them there.
You can also start in Google Slides and use Gemini from within. This hasn’t worked as well for me though.
You could also go to a completely different tool like Gamma. Or use PowerPoint with Copilot.
The way they’ve been adding features to these tools, my guess is that it’s a matter of time before they make slides editable within NotebookLM. (Hopefully not before we post this…)
Hope that helps.

P.S. I made a quick video on making Slide Decks with Gemini Canvas, if you're interested:
P.P.S. There is a slight workaround that you can try within NotebookLM. Watch the video ↓
