Question

Why would someone pay for the $200+/month AI plans?
~ Elle

Answer

Hi Elle,

I won’t pretend to know why people do things.  I can tell you why I think people might pay for plans at that price point and I can tell you why we would pay that much (we don’t currently but probably will soon).

The biggest reason (and first thing that comes to mind) is because they can make more than $200+/month with the tools that they get access to.  Think about it this way, if you could make $10,000 per month but you had to pay for a $200 plan, would you do it?

Another big reason is to help with their work.  Some of the biggest spenders on AI plans are actually software engineers at the major tech companies.  They use their higher level access to build tools, coding assistants, etc.  Again, they make way more than the plan costs each month so it’s easy to justify.

Some people want access to bleeding-edge features and the tech companies know it so they put the newest and shiniest things behind the expensive plans.  It works.

There are likely a ton of other reasons.  I will summarize them as - people see more than $200+/month of value in the plans so the decision becomes easy for them.

I might be wrong in some cases…

Hope that helps.
