Answering your questions about business and technology
Question
Our team has recently switched to remote work and we need to start doing video meetings. Which platform is the best for us to use?

Answer
Hi Joe,
The different platforms have come a long way in the last few years and the major ones are all pretty good. Which one is “best” for your team depends on what features you will use.
Without knowing the details of your team and your needs, I would recommend asking these questions:
-
- Which platform(s) does the team already know how to use?
- Are there any unique requirements that our team has?
- How many people will be on the calls?
- How long will the calls be?
- What kind of device will people use to join the calls (i.e., computer, phone, tablet, etc.)?
- Are we able to pay for a solution, or does it have to be free?
- Are we willing to try multiple solutions to see which one we like the best?
This list will definitely get you started.
Depending on your requirements, I would recommend looking at Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco WebEx.
There are a lot of other options out there, but most people can make one of those work in their environment.
Hope that helps
~ Damien
