Hi Wanda,
Pick an AI chatbot that has web access (most of the popular ones) and research capabilities. Also, gather any data that you have from previous years if possible.
If you are comfortable with AI chatbots then we recommend Gemini, Perplexity, or Claude. If you are just getting started then we recommend ChatGPT (mainly because it is more forgiving).
Remove any sensitive information from your previous year data, since you will be uploading it as context to whichever tool you use.
Then, start with a prompt like this -
You are a marketing and business strategy expert. Your task is to create a 2026 marketing strategy for our organization. Ask questions to clarify our marketing goals, refine our messaging to be action-oriented, and determine how we can strengthen our impact within our community. Use the answers to the questions as context. Also use the attached marketing data [attach any data/analytics that you have].
Output an assessment of our current approach and a strategy document for 2026. Consider the following marketing channels [list marketing channels that you use, i.e. IG, FB, LI]
You may have to go back and forth with a few follow-up prompts, but this will get you moving in the right direction.
